At first this game was designed around hoping you'd cave and buy loot boxes. At it's then current rate it'd of taken you eons to unlock everything. It was so bad However, the newest update makes the game feel like a true and fair progressive system and so no more loot boxes. Its a real shame they had to go full circle to get to this point. The game is amazing but i'm sure the masses have already written this off.
Had this been the game we got at launch it would've of been a cult classic. I'd highly recommend this game in its current state.
This game has the potential to become as good as the original. Its developers have poured blood, sweat, and tears to try and satisfy what the players want while still appeasing EA's thirst for players' money. But apart from the egregiously unacceptable microtransaction system, the game has some major flaws. It fails to be either a competitive game or a casual game. People who just want to sit back and enjoy playing a night of Star Wars can't because of the advantages other players (who have payed to win) have over them. Likewise the competitive player can't operate to his/her fullest because there is no squad system with which to coordinate maneuverers with friends.

Furthermore, you can't pick what map or era you'd like to play on because there is no server browser, so if you want to play a match of Clone Wars you can only hope that the one you've been put in is the one you're looking for. Until all these issues are fixed, I would suggest not spending your money on this game yet. Submitted on 2/28/2019 Review title of brahchanCould Be So Much BetterI used to play this game all the time but I feel like with each update we take a step back. They don't know how to balance teams. I feel like I'm running on a constant lag on this game, and that doesn't happen with my other games. I keep expecting them to learn from feedback, but that doesn't happen. You still get thrown into empty servers that won't load other players.
Abilities that you should be able to use don't work sometimes, and that makes it really frustrating. There are still areas where you can exploit glitches, despite telling them about it in the forums.

They might have taken away the really expensive character unlocks, but instead of putting in new clone suits for every update they should put in multiple genders for each class. Appreciate that they have multiple females in this game, but it's lazy to confine one gender to one class in certain categories. Fix your game, balance the teams, and balance the characters. The only thing you get from loot boxes is skins and credits to get whatever you want. I've seriously picked all of my fave stormtrooper skins and I've only played a week. The 'grind' is a simple leveling system for each class.
You get to upgrade the classes with this card system you spend your points on. NOT money.skill points. It does benifit players in combat but I think it makes the game more fun.
I get to personalize my charactors to fit me best. This is the LEAST greedy multiplayer game I've played in a couple of years. At least now it is. I never wait more than 30 sec to get into a match. Lag happens in most every online game, this doesn't give troubles.

Also the most fun I've had since Battlefield 1. Literally love this game.
