National Institute of Design- NID Admission 2019 Full Details:National Institute of design (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the finest educational and research institutions for industrial, communication, textile and IT integrated (experiential) design. It is an autonomous institute under the aegis of the ministry of commerce and industry, government of India and industrial research, government of India as a scientific and industrial research organisation. Contents.Courses offered The institute offers one main course which follows the two semester per year pattern.Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) This 4-year course is offered in three specialsations by NID Vijayawada. Until 2014, too used to confer this diploma, however has conferred a bachelor's degree since 2014 when the National Institute of Design Act 2014 was passed, allowing the institute to do so. This course has a total of 60 seats. Even though it is a Diploma level certification, it is at par with the other NIDs by virtue of it being an autonomous Institute under the Central Government.Infrastructure The transit campus for the institute has been set up at the EEE & ECE Block,. The current campus include Studios, Knowledge Management Centre (Library) and I.T. Lab which is par excellence. Also, the institute provides students with full-time internet access for all kinds of research and knowledge gathering.Studio The campus currently has 3 studios where the students can learn and grow as a designer.Knowledge Management Centre (Library) The library at the campus is well acquainted with books and reading material for students, accessible at all college hours.
The library is still building up and growing fast. It also contains discs with digital information which can be used by faculty as well as students.I.T. Lab The I.T. Lab for students is well equipped with latest generation of apple workstations with its own local server. Lab also provides access to internet throughout the day and all kind of latest licensed software that are required for the design purposes.Hostel Facility The institute provides hostel facility in the society named IJM Rain Tree Park, Situated opposite to Acharya Nagarjuna University ANU for short.
The students are provided with 3-BHK Flats in Teak & Maple Block, with maids who clean the flats on daily basis. Vijaya Lakshmi & her two sons are the care taker of the flats. There are two wardens, Mr. RamaKrishna and Mrs.
Kumari.Girls hostel flats are on a single floor with two security guards on duty during the night. Each Flat consists of six students, two in each bedroom system. Some flats interiors are done some are bare walls. Cot and tables are provided one has to buy mattresses and pillows.

There is doctor on call and there is one ambulance car (a brand new dezire car) provided by NID which is dedicated to any emergency at night.The society is uber class in every standard and has all facilities like super store, ATMs, medical shop, temple, cricket, basketball, lawn tennis, badminton, other indoor games, Gym and Swimming pool. The club house has a restaurant called 'Open Grill'Overall the hostels are 9/10 says SaketThere are 5 Shuttle mini busses for ferrying students from hostels at Rain Tree Park to NID College Campus at ANU (Aacharya Nagarjuna University) These shuttles also take students to Vijaywada and Guntur for excursions and shopping trips.Mess Facility NID has hired another Flat in the same block which is used as mess for students which provides them food two times Break Fast and Dinner is served here. The lunch is brought to NID college campus at ANU and served in the dining hall.

The students then eat the provided food.Proposed NIDs is under construction which was opened by Haryana CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda in 2012. The creation of four NIDs was suggested as part of the Government's 2007 National Design Policy.The foundation stone for was laid by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in February 2011, while land has also been earmarked for the Andhra Pradesh campus in the state capital.
